Log Cancellations in CRM: Reasons, Outcomes, and Billing Truth
Product analytics and Stripe tell you that a subscription ended. CRM tells sales and success why — if you write it down. Logging voluntary cancel reason, save outcome, and MRR at risk in the account record prevents “silent churn” in pipeline reviews.
Reporting cadence: cancellation reason reporting. Custom routing signals: custom attributes cancellation flow.

Minimum fields
- Cancel reason code (enum matching in-app survey)
- Outcome: canceled, saved (offer type), or escalated
- Cancel date and access end date
- MRR or ARR at session time
- Channel: in-app, portal, support-assisted
Keep billing as source of truth
CRM fields can lag. Reconcile subscription status from Stripe webhooks — subscription cancellation webhooks — before success marks an account “churned” for outreach.
When CRM sync is not built yet
Export reason-weighted cancel data from your analytics stack for weekly reviews. Methodology: customer churn analysis. ChurnIntel supports export of voluntary outcomes; it does not replace your CRM.
Structured reasons at cancel time
ChurnIntel captures voluntary survey responses and outcomes for export.
