“Will I be charged again?” is the top billing question on cancel confirmations. Your copy and support macros should match how Stripe (or your billing system) actually invoices after a voluntary cancel.

Common billing outcomes

Cancel typeTypical customer expectation
End of paid periodNo new renewal charge; access until period end
Immediate cancelNo future periods; possible proration or credit per your settings
Annual prepaidClarify whether refunds are offered — policy not Stripe default

Copy for the confirm step

Stripe cancel behavior: cancel subscriptions. Verify proration rules for your account before publishing universal statements.

  • State the next charge date or “no further charges” explicitly
  • Mention credits or proration only if your billing engine will generate them
  • Link to support for invoice disputes

Do not mix with failed payments

Past-due invoices are not voluntary cancel. Route those customers to billing recovery, not cancel-flow copy. Voluntary vs involuntary churn.
