Enterprise Cancellation Escalation: High-Touch Voluntary Exit
Enterprise accounts may have order forms, true-ups, or multi-year terms that self-serve cancel cannot interpret. Escalation routes those customers to account management while still documenting reason and intended end date — this guide is operational, not legal advice.
Segmentation context: high-value customer cancellation flow and cancellation flow by plan and billing.

When to escalate
- MRR or seat count above your documented threshold
- Custom contract flag on the account
- Customer requests cancel during active annual term with minimum commitment language
- Multi-workspace or reseller parent account
Escalation flow
| Step | Owner |
|---|---|
| Capture reason in-app or ticket | Support / AM |
| Confirm contractual end options | AM + finance |
| Execute Stripe or invoice changes | Ops / billing |
| Offboarding checklist | Success — see offboarding pillar |
Do not over-escalate
Self-serve tiers should not be forced through sales to leave. Escalation is segmentation, not a universal friction layer. Compare: assisted cancellation support.
